Australian homeowners are embracing the future and seeking out smart homes, with research revealing more than 60 per cent of Australians expect a newly built home to be equipped with smart home products.
Award-winning global home builder
G.J. Gardner Homes has collaborated with Clipsal by Schneider Electric to offer its customers ‘Clipsal Wiser Smart Home’ solutions an innovative technology that can be easily incorporated into new builds.
G.J. Gardner Homes Chief Executive Officer Trent Gardner said the collaboration would support the franchise builder in offering smart home technology to its customers that can deliver both energy-saving and long-term lifestyle benefits for homeowners.
“Through this new collaboration, we can now offer our customers smart home solutions suited to their individual needs and lifestyle – all managed simply through their mobile phone,” Gardner said.
“From the moment our customers open the doors to their new home, they will see the benefits of this integrated solution, from being able to easily light up their home with the switch of a button to have their favourite song playing in the living spaces.
“We expect this innovative offering will grow to be just as popular with our customers as adding solar to their roof or a pool to their backyard.”
The research, conducted on behalf of Clipsal, also uncovered more than 80 per cent of Australians were concerned about rising costs of electricity and were looking for ways to save energy - making it the number one driver for installing smart home technology.
“Buyers are looking for ways to save money, the environment and become more technologically savvy, smart homes can tick all these boxes and more,” Gardner added.
“With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), we can expect smart home technology to do much more to optimise home sustainability.
“Now, smart technology can utilise machine learning where AI can learn household habits and routines to conserve energy for the home, AI can understand your work routine for example it can turn off fans, heaters, or air conditioners whilst you are away from home.”
Clipsal Chief Executive Officer Chris Kerr said its smart home offering was a simple way homeowners could upgrade their new home and save on their electricity bill.
“Our Clipsal Wiser Smart Home solution can help homeowners to save energy without making compromises by creating scheduled or automated smart energy saving measures,” Kerr said.
“It is super simple, intuitive, flexible and can be scaled up from one device to an entire home. It can also be used in multiple ways – voice control, pre-set automation, personalised moments, sensors or using standard switches.”
The first G.J. Gardner Homes Display Home with Clipsal Wiser Smart Home Solutions opened in South Melbourne, Victoria in August 2024.
